Truegard Full Synthetic LS Gear Oil is a full synthetic, heavy duty, extreme pressure multi-grade gear oil manufactured with the highest quality PAO synthetic base oil for long-life protection in moderate to severe applications up to 500,000 miles in well maintained systems¹.

Truegard Full Synthetic LS Gear Oil, through the combination of naturally high viscosity index (low pour point) synthetic base oils and state-of-the-art Sulfur- Phosphorus additive technology, are more economical than oils of lesser quality and lower initial cost. Using Truegard Full Synthetic LS Gear Oil may allow longer drain intervals, extended equipment life, and a significant reduction in maintenance cost and downtime.

The use of synthetic base stocks provide superior low temperature protection over conventional and synthetic blends providing for easier start-ups and better gear protection in extreme cold temperatures. The lower viscosity PAO base also creates a more powerful, fuel efficient operating environment due to improved torque efficiency as more power is transferred to the contact surface.

Truegard Full Synthetic LS Gear Oil is fortified with an extremely shear stable viscosity improver which provides thinner, slicker oil films while maintaining fluid viscosity throughout the operating life for improved wear protection. The reduced friction creates an efficient operating environment for a smoother ride.

¹500,000 mile drain interval does not apply to all applications. Contact your Truegard dealer for more information.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • The 75W-90 grade means the oil flows like a 75-weight at cold temperatures and maintains a 90-weight viscosity at operating temperature, making it well-suited for moderate to severe duty applications where a lighter high-temperature viscosity is specified. Truegard also offers the same formula in additional viscosity grades, so always confirm your axle or transmission manufacturer's viscosity recommendation before choosing between 75W-90 and a heavier grade like 75W-140.

  • The LS designation indicates the oil contains friction modifier chemistry formulated to prevent chatter and ensure smooth engagement in limited slip differentials. Because it also meets API GL-5 and API MT-1 requirements, it is suitable for use in standard hypoid differentials, automotive axles, manual transmissions, and truck axles and hubs as well.

  • This oil is formulated to meet API GL-5, API MT-1, J2360, MIL-PRF-2105E, MIL-L-2105D, Mack GO-G/H/J/J Plus, ArvinMeritor 076-N (75W-90), Dana-CVSD SHAES256 Rev. C and SHAES429 Rev. A, ZF TE-ML-05A/12M/16D/21A, AGMA 9005-E02/250.03/250.04/251.02, and Navistar MPAPS B-6816 Type II, making it broadly compatible across heavy-duty commercial and industrial equipment.

  • The up-to-500,000-mile drain interval is achievable only in well-maintained systems and does not apply to all applications. You should contact your Truegard dealer to confirm whether an extended drain interval is appropriate for your specific equipment and operating conditions.

  • PAO (polyalphaolefin) synthetic base stocks have a naturally high viscosity index and low pour point, which means better protection and easier cold-weather start-ups compared to conventional or synthetic-blend alternatives. The lower viscosity PAO base also improves torque efficiency, transferring more power to the contact surface and contributing to fuel savings over time.

  • The oil uses Sulfur-Phosphorus additive technology to provide extreme pressure and anti-wear performance, along with a highly shear-stable viscosity improver that maintains fluid viscosity throughout the oil's service life. It also delivers exceptional thermal and oxidation stability plus rust and corrosion protection, supporting long-term performance in severe operating environments.
