TRUEGARD BAR FEED OIL is a HLP Class premium grade lubricant for use in CNC lathe bar feeders. This oil provides a thin pliable film between the rotating bar stock and the guide channel. This ensures smooth and stable rotation of the bar stock, reducing friction and wear.

TRUEGARD BAR FEED OIL shows exceptional resistance to thermal degradant ion, excellent demulsibility, and is completely inert to copper alloys. This oil is inherently low foaming and possesses outstanding corrosion inhibition.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • HLP is an anti-wear hydraulic/circulating oil classification that specifies a fluid with rust and oxidation inhibitors plus anti-wear additives. For CNC bar feeders, this classification ensures the oil maintains a reliable lubricating film under the rotational loads and speeds typical of bar stock movement through guide channels, helping protect against wear on both the stock and the feeder components.

  • Demulsibility is the oil's ability to shed water rather than forming a stable emulsion. In practice, if coolant or condensation enters the bar feeder reservoir, this oil will separate from the water so the water can be drained off, keeping the lubricant effective and reducing the frequency of oil changes or reservoir cleanouts.

  • Many CNC machine components, including bushings, guide liners, and fittings, are made from copper-based alloys such as bronze or brass. An oil that is not inert to copper can accelerate corrosion or staining of those parts. Because TRUEGARD 1330-15 is formulated to be inert to copper alloys, it is safe for use in systems containing these materials without risk of chemical attack.

  • Foam in the lubricant reservoir can break down the continuous oil film needed between the rotating bar stock and the guide channel, leading to metal-to-metal contact, increased friction, and premature wear. The inherently low-foaming character of this oil ensures a consistent, uninterrupted lubricating film during operation.

  • Bar feeders run continuously in production environments where oil temperatures can climb over time. The exceptional resistance to thermal degradation means the oil resists oxidation and viscosity breakdown at elevated temperatures, extending the service life of the oil and helping maintain consistent film strength throughout long production runs.

  • TRUEGARD 1330-15 is a straight (neat) oil, not a concentrate, so it is used as-is without dilution. Simply fill the bar feeder reservoir to the manufacturer's recommended level with this oil directly from the drum.
