Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • AW 68 refers to an anti-wear hydraulic oil with an ISO viscosity grade of 68, meaning it has a moderate-to-heavier viscosity suitable for slower-speed, higher-pressure hydraulic systems operating in warmer ambient temperatures. It is commonly used in industrial presses, heavy-duty mobile equipment, and other high-load hydraulic circuits where a thicker oil film is needed for adequate component protection.

  • Zinc-containing hydraulic oils can react with yellow metals (brass, bronze, copper) found in pumps, valves, and fittings, causing accelerated wear and deposits. A zinc-free (ZF) formulation uses alternative anti-wear additives that are safe for systems with yellow-metal components, making it the preferred choice where the OEM specifies ashless or zinc-free hydraulic fluid.

  • Group II base stocks have lower sulfur content, higher purity, and better oxidation stability than Group I stocks, which translates to a longer fluid service life, reduced varnish and sludge deposits, and more consistent viscosity performance under demanding temperature conditions.

  • Mixing hydraulic oils of different formulations or additive chemistries can compromise performance and is generally not recommended. If switching from a zinc-containing or different-brand hydraulic oil, flushing the system before filling with this zinc-free product helps ensure additive compatibility and preserves the intended protection properties.

  • Demulsibility is the oil's ability to rapidly shed water that enters the system through condensation or seal leakage. Good demulsibility allows water to separate and settle out rather than forming an emulsion, which prevents corrosion, microbial growth, and loss of lubricating film that could otherwise damage pumps and valves.

  • Yes, the product is specifically described as suitable for equipment operating in severe environments, high-pressure systems, and applications requiring extended oil life and reliability, supported by its oxidation resistance, rust inhibition, and foam control properties.
