R&O stands for Rust and Oxidation inhibited, meaning the oil's additive package is focused on corrosion protection and resisting oil degradation. Unlike AW (anti-wear) oils, R&O oils do not contain anti-wear additives such as zinc-based compounds, making them appropriate for circulating systems and equipment where those additives could be incompatible with system seals or metals.

The product is listed as suitable for hydraulic systems; however, the ISO VG 320 viscosity is on the heavier end of the spectrum. Buyers should verify their equipment's OEM-specified viscosity range before use, since many hydraulic systems require lighter grades such as ISO VG 32, 46, or 68.
