Its excellent lubricity and corrosion inhibition also make it capable of high-dilution grinding on cast iron, extending its usefulness beyond non-ferrous and ferrous steel applications.

SYNCOOL 712B is a concentrate that must be mixed with water before use; it produces a brilliant green color upon addition to water, which helps confirm the solution has been properly prepared. Sulfur- and chlorine-based extreme-pressure additives can stain or corrode sensitive metals such as copper and aluminum, and they raise health and waste-disposal concerns for operators.
