Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • "Food grade" means the oil is formulated to be safe in the event of incidental contact with food, which is why it carries a neutral odor and taste. It is specifically designed for use in food processing, packaging, and beverage equipment where lubricants may come into brief, unintended contact with food products.

  • ISO VG 15 is a very low-viscosity hydraulic oil, meaning it flows readily and is best suited for hydraulic systems that operate at lower temperatures or require a thin fluid for efficient pump and valve response. If your system's OEM specifies a heavier grade (e.g., ISO VG 32 or 46), this 15-weight product would not be the appropriate choice.

  • Yes. In addition to hydraulic systems and hydrostatic drives, this oil is suitable for plain and anti-friction bearings, light duty gearboxes, and circulating oil systems, making it a versatile general-purpose lubricant for food processing machinery that requires multiple lubrication points.

  • Yes. The product is stated to be compatible with the elastomers, gaskets, seals, and paints normally used in food machinery lubrication systems, so no special changeover preparation is required due to material incompatibility concerns.

  • Store between 32°F and 100°F, away from direct sunlight and other heat sources. Unopened, the product should be used within 5 years of the manufacture date. Once opened, it must be used within 2 years or within 5 years of the manufacture date, whichever comes first.

  • Food grade lubricants must be kept separate from conventional lubricants, chemicals, and foodstuffs to prevent cross-contamination, which could compromise both the food-safe integrity of the lubricant and the safety of any food products it may contact during use.
