Shell Gadus S2 V220 greases are high quality multipurpose, extreme-pressure greases based on a blend of high viscosity index mineral oils and a lithium hydroxystearate soap thickener and contain extreme-pressure and other proven additives to enhance their performance in a wide range of applications. Designed for multipurpose grease lubrication of rolling element and plain bearings as well as hinges and sliding surfaces such as those found in throughout most industrial and transport sectors.

Outstanding load carrying capacity Shell Gadus S2 V220 greases contain special extreme pressure additives which enable them to withstand heavy and shock loads without failure of the lubricant film. Improved mechanical stability This is particularly important in vibrating environments where poor mechanical stability can lead to grease softening with subsequent loss of lubrication performance and leakage. Good resistance to water wash-out Shell Gadus S2 V220 greases have been formulated to offer resistance to water wash-out. Oxidation stability Specially selected base oil components have excellent oxidation resistance. Their consistency will not alter in storage and they withstand high operating temperatures without hardening or forming bearing deposits. Anti- corrosion protection Shell Gadus S2 V220 greases have an affinity with metal and have the ability to protect bearing surfaces against corrosion, even when the grease is contaminated with water. Main Applications Shell Gadus S2 V220 0 greases are specifically designed for: Steel mill lubrication where a softer grease is necessary for specialized dispensing systems. Heavy duty plain and rolling element bearings operating under harsh conditions including shock loading in wet environments. Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • This grease is formulated for multipurpose lubrication of rolling element and plain bearings, hinges, and sliding surfaces across most industrial and transport sectors. The Grade 0 version is specifically engineered for steel mill lubrication where a softer grease is required for specialized dispensing systems, as well as heavy-duty bearings operating under harsh conditions including shock loading in wet environments.

  • NLGI Grade 0 is a softer consistency than the more common Grade 2, which allows it to flow more readily through centralized and automated lubrication dispensing systems. This makes it particularly well-suited for steel mill applications and other systems that require a grease that pumps easily under demanding conditions.

  • This grease is formulated to resist water wash-out and maintains anti-corrosion protection on bearing surfaces even when the grease is contaminated with water, making it suitable for bearings and other components in damp or wet operating conditions.

  • Yes. It contains special extreme-pressure additives that allow it to withstand heavy and shock loads without failure of the lubricant film. It also has improved mechanical stability, which prevents grease softening in vibrating environments — a key factor in avoiding lubricant leakage and loss of lubrication performance.

  • This grease uses a lithium hydroxystearate soap thickener combined with a blend of high viscosity index mineral oils. The thickener type is important when considering compatibility with other greases already present in a system, as mixing incompatible thickener types can affect performance. Confirm compatibility before introducing this grease into equipment currently using a different thickener type.

  • The specially selected base oil components offer excellent oxidation resistance, meaning the grease's consistency will not change during storage and it can withstand high operating temperatures without hardening or forming bearing deposits.

Key Features

  • Extreme-pressure additives enable the grease to withstand heavy and shock loads without failure of the lubricant film, making it suitable for heavy-duty plain and rolling element bearings under harsh conditions.

  • Improved mechanical stability resists grease softening in vibrating environments, helping prevent loss of lubrication performance and leakage.

  • Formulated to resist water wash-out, maintaining reliable lubrication in wet environments including shock-loading conditions.

  • Specially selected base oil components deliver excellent oxidation stability, withstanding high operating temperatures without hardening or forming bearing deposits.

  • Affinity with metal surfaces provides anti-corrosion protection for bearing surfaces, even when the grease is contaminated with water.
