DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) is a urea-based solution that can corrode metals and degrade certain materials over time. Polypropylene and Teflon are chemically resistant to DEF, which prevents fluid contamination and ensures the pump holds up with repeated use.

A rotary pump is operated by turning a hand crank, which creates suction to draw DEF up through the downtube and out through the delivery hose — no electricity or batteries required, making it well-suited for field use or locations without a power source.

In most cases, yes — the 9.8-foot hose provides enough reach to transfer DEF from a drum positioned on the ground into the DEF fill port of trucks or equipment parked nearby, without needing to tip or lift the drum.
