TRUEGARD SPINDLE OILS are a series of light bodied, light colored oils manufactured for the lubrication of high speed machine tool spindles. These oils are compounded to give excellent resistance to wear and corrosion. These oils show good demulsibility to ensure spindles and chucks do not seize shut.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • The "15" refers to the viscosity grade of this oil. TRUEGARD's spindle oil series also includes grades 4, 6, and 10, with lower numbers representing lighter (thinner) oils suited to higher-speed spindles. Refer to your machine tool's OEM specifications to determine the appropriate grade based on your spindle speed and bearing requirements.

  • This oil is specifically formulated for the lubrication of high-speed machine tool spindles. It is a precision lubricant intended for applications where a light-bodied oil is required to support demanding spindle and chuck operation.

  • Demulsibility is the oil's ability to shed water rather than forming a stable emulsion with it. Strong demulsibility means water contamination is less likely to mix into the lubricant film, which is critical because water contamination is specifically identified as a cause of spindles and chucks seizing shut.

  • "Light bodied" indicates a low-viscosity formulation matched to the demands of high-speed spindle operation, where heavier oils can create resistance and interfere with precision performance. Grade 15 is the heaviest in the TRUEGARD spindle oil series, making it best suited to the lower end of the high-speed spindle speed range within the lineup.

  • TRUEGARD Spindle Oil 15 is compounded to deliver excellent resistance to both wear and corrosion, helping to extend the service life of spindle bearings and related precision components that face continuous high-speed operation.
