TRUEGARD Tri-Purpose Cutting Oil is specifically engineered for use in screw machines and lathes performing operations such as drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, and threading. It is formulated for steel and steel alloys, making it a strong fit for general-purpose metal machining in production shop environments.

This product is designed to provide reliable protection and efficiency during less severe machining tasks, not extreme-pressure operations such as heavy broaching or gear hobbing. If your application involves very aggressive cuts or hard exotic metals, a more heavy-duty EP cutting oil would be more appropriate.

The precise blend of sulfur and fat enhances the oil's lubricity, film strength, and extreme pressure performance. In practice, this means the oil maintains a protective boundary layer between the cutting tool and workpiece, reducing heat and friction during operations like tapping and threading that generate significant contact pressure.

Paraffin wax can solidify or deposit within fluid lines, filters, and fittings, especially in cooler environments, leading to restricted flow and maintenance downtime. By selecting virgin petroleum base oils with paraffin wax fractions eliminated, this formulation helps keep your machine's lubrication and coolant circuits running freely with less filter clogging.

The mild detergent properties help prevent swarf (metal chips and fine particles) from accumulating on machine surfaces and components. This promotes a cleaner working environment, reduces wear caused by abrasive debris, and helps extend the service life of the equipment.

TRUEGARD Tri-Purpose Cutting Oil is an active neat (straight) cutting oil, not a water-soluble concentrate, and is applied directly without dilution. It is intended for use as-supplied in flood or drip application systems on screw machines and lathes.
