TRUEGARD Gear Oil EP 460 - 55 Gallon Drum

This oil is designed for heavy-duty, continuous operation as well as shock loading on all types of industrial steel and bronze gearing. Its 460 viscosity grade also makes it particularly well-suited for worm gear applications, where thicker oils are needed to maintain proper film strength.

EP indicates the oil contains additives that provide enhanced lubricity under heavy loads where standard machine oils would break down and allow metal-to-metal contact. This is especially important in high-load gear and bearing applications where conventional oils lack the necessary film strength.

Active sulfur in some EP gear oils can chemically react with yellow metals such as bronze, causing corrosive staining or surface damage.
