Environmentally friendly hydraulic and lubricating oils based on natural substances, type HETG, according to ISO 15380, for mobile and stationary hydraulic equipment.

Description

PLANTOHYD N are specialty hydraulic oils based on renewable, natural substances (triglycerides) with active ingredients for the improvement of oxidation and ageing stability. Due to their high level of biodegradability they are offered as an environmentally acceptable alternative to mineral based hydraulic oils in systems operating at low and medium loads. The high polarity of the PLANTOHYD N oils in conjunction with a premium additive system provide excellent lubricating properties. The products fulfill and exceed the minimum requirements according to ISO 15380, type HETG.

Application

PLANTOHYD 32 N or PLANTOHYD 40 N can be used in mobile and stationary hydraulic equipment which require an ISO VG 32 or ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil. When making an oil change to PLANTOHYD N the guidelines for fluid change according to ISO 15380 should be observed. Paints which are not compatible with esters are not recommended. In general, two-component coating systems can be used with ester-based products. The use of stainless-steel tanks and filter housings is recommended as is the use of suitable dryer systems and filtration units. Use ester-resistant compatible seals and plastics in general and the use of Viton FKM in dynamic stressed seals is recommended. The PLANTOHYD N products will show their best performance at tank temperatures between 50 and 60 °C. Recommended temperature range for application: - 27 °C to + 70 °C.

Advantages

  • Based on renewable raw materials
  • Environmentally acceptable lubricant
  • Rapidly biodegradable (≥ 60% according to OECD 301 B)
  • Multi-grade characteristics due to high natural, shear stable viscosity index
  • Good corrosion protection
  • Excellent lubricating properties
  • Low evaporation loss
  • Natural cleaning properties
  • Good low temperature characteristics

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • PLANTOHYD 40 N is suited for use in systems that require an ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil. If your equipment specifies ISO VG 32, PLANTOHYD 32 N is the appropriate variant to use instead.

  • A direct drop-in swap is not recommended without following proper fluid change procedures. When switching to PLANTOHYD N, the fluid change guidelines outlined in ISO 15380 must be observed to avoid compatibility issues with residual mineral oil.

  • Ester-resistant seals and plastics should be used throughout the system, and Viton FKM seals are specifically recommended for dynamically stressed sealing points. Paints that are not compatible with esters should be avoided, although two-component coating systems are generally suitable for use with ester-based products.

  • The recommended application temperature range is -27°C to +70°C. For best performance, tank temperatures between 50°C and 60°C are ideal.

  • This oil is rapidly biodegradable, achieving at least 60% biodegradation according to OECD 301 B. It is formulated from renewable, natural substances (triglycerides), making it an environmentally acceptable alternative to mineral-based hydraulic oils in low and medium load applications.

  • Stainless-steel tanks and filter housings are recommended, along with suitable dryer systems and filtration units. These precautions help maintain the integrity and performance of this ester-based oil within the hydraulic system.

Key Features

  • Based on renewable, natural raw materials (triglycerides), offering an environmentally acceptable alternative to mineral-based hydraulic oils in systems operating at low and medium loads.

  • Rapidly biodegradable at 60% or greater according to OECD 301 B, with fulfillment and exceedance of ISO 15380 type HETG minimum requirements.

  • Multi-grade characteristics supported by a high natural, shear stable viscosity index, with a recommended application temperature range of -27°C to +70°C.

  • Excellent lubricating properties delivered through the high polarity of the oil in conjunction with a premium additive system, plus good corrosion protection and low evaporation loss.

  • Suitable for use in mobile and stationary hydraulic equipment; ester-resistant seals and plastics are recommended, with Viton FKM advised for dynamically stressed seals.
