Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • A synthetic blend combines conventional base oil with synthetic base stocks, offering better resistance to oxidation, heat, and wear than straight conventional oil at a lower cost than full synthetic. For high-volume shop settings, it represents a practical middle-ground that still delivers high-performance lubrication as stated in the product description.

  • API SN is the American Petroleum Institute's performance category covering engine cleanliness, wear protection, and compatibility with emission systems including turbochargers and catalytic converters. GF-5 (ILSAC) adds fuel economy and enhanced deposit protection requirements, meaning this oil meets the standards for most modern gasoline passenger cars and light trucks as well as older vehicles the product is designed to support.

  • 10W-30 flows like a 10-weight oil when cold for easier cold starts, then maintains 30-weight viscosity at operating temperature. It is suitable for a wide range of gasoline engines in cars and light trucks, but you should always verify the viscosity grade against each vehicle manufacturer's recommendation, especially for newer engines that may specify a thinner grade like 5W-20 or 0W-20.

  • Synthetic blend motor oils are generally compatible with conventional and other synthetic blend oils, so a complete flush is typically not required when switching brands within the same viscosity grade. However, mixing different viscosity grades is not recommended, and you should drain and refill if moving from a significantly different grade or a full synthetic to ensure consistent oil film performance.

  • Drums should be stored in a cool, dry, and covered area away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, and moisture. Storing drums on their side with the bungs at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions, or upright with a drum cover, helps prevent water contamination and maintain the oil's integrity until use.

  • You will need a compatible drum pump or hand pump rated for petroleum-based fluids, along with appropriate dispensing hoses and funnels. Using a drum stand or dolly to position the drum for gravity or pump-assisted dispensing improves efficiency and reduces spill risk in a high-volume repair shop or dealership setting.
