  • API SN is a performance standard covering wear protection, deposit control, and fuel economy, while GF-6 is the latest ILSAC standard that adds requirements for low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) protection and improved fuel efficiency. Because GF-6 is backward compatible, this oil can be used as a direct substitute for older API/ILSAC formulations such as API SM, SL, or GF-5 wherever 5W-30 is specified.
