HANDLING AND STORAGE
All food grade lubricants should be stored separately from other lubricants, chemical substances and foodstuffs an-d out of direct sunlight or other heat sources. Store between 32°F and +100°F. Provided that the product has been stored under these conditions we recommend to use the product within 5 years from the date of manufacture. Upon opening a pack, the product must be used within 2 years (or Within 5 years of date of manufacture, whichever is the sooner).

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • ISO VG 68 is a mid-range viscosity grade suited for hydraulic systems and machinery operating under moderate temperatures and loads. To confirm it is the correct grade, check your equipment manufacturer's specification sheet or owner's manual for the recommended ISO viscosity grade - using a grade that is too light or too heavy can affect system efficiency and component life.

  • Food grade hydraulic oils are specifically formulated with base fluids and additives that have neutral odor and taste and are safe for use in machinery where incidental contact with food or beverage products may occur. This product is also stated to be compatible with the elastomers, seals, and paints typically found in food machinery lubrication systems, making it appropriate for use in regulated food production environments.

  • Beyond hydraulic systems, this oil is formulated for use in hydrostatic gears, plain and anti-friction bearings, light duty gearboxes, and circulating oil systems, which means facilities can potentially consolidate to a single food grade lubricant for several machine types rather than maintaining separate products.

  • The product is stated to be compatible with the elastomers, gaskets, seals, and paints normally used in food machinery lubrication systems, so seal replacement is generally not required when transitioning to this oil. However, if your equipment uses non-standard or specialty seal materials, it is advisable to verify compatibility with the equipment manufacturer before making the switch.

  • No - mixing this food grade oil with conventional or non-food-grade lubricants would compromise food safety compliance and could affect the oil's performance characteristics. The product data specifically states that food grade lubricants must be stored separately from other lubricants and chemical substances to prevent cross-contamination.

  • Store the oil between 32°F and 100°F, away from direct sunlight, other lubricants, chemicals, and foodstuffs. Unopened containers are good for up to 5 years from the date of manufacture; once opened, the oil should be used within 2 years or before the 5-year manufacture date is reached, whichever comes first.
