For cleaner running, high-performance, cost efficient engines, use FormulaShell 10W-40 (SN) multigrade motor oil. It operates effectively over a wide temperature range and safeguards engine parts from corrosion, rust, oxidation and wear. It's also specially formulated to improve fuel economy. We offer a 55-gallon drum supply and the FormulaShell 10W-40 is also available in bulk.

FormulaShellÊSAE 5W-20, SAE 5W-30 and SAE 10W-30 Engine Oils meet or exceed all automobile and light duty truck warranty requirements for gasoline and turbocharged engines where an ILSAC GF-4, API SM, SAE 5W-20, SAE 5W-30, or SAE 10W-30 engine oil is recommended. FormulaShellÊEngine Oils contain select viscosity index improvers to provide easier cold weather starting and better high temperature protection demanded by modern high out-put engines. The SAE 5W-20, SAE 5W-30 and SAE 10W-30 grades are Energy Conserving and meet ILSAC GF-4 specifications and API SM and prior API categories. Follow manufacturer's recommendations for viscosity grade and API Service Category. These oils are suitable for use and meet the performance requirements of many automobile manufacturers for service fill oil: 5W-20(GM 6094M, Chrysler MS 6395P, Ford WSS-M2C930-A), 5W-30 (GM 6094M, Chrysler MS 6395P, Ford WSS-M2C929-A), and 10W-30 (GM 6094M, Chrysler MS 6395P). FormulaShellÊSAE 10W-40 and SAE 20W-50 Engine Oils are premium high performance multigrade motor oils formulated to provide wide temperature range engine protection. FormulaShellÊSAE 10W-40 and SAE 20W-50 Engine Oils meet or exceed all automobile and light duty truck warranty requirements for gasoline engines where a SAE 10W-40 or SAE 20W-50 engine oil is recommended. These grade oils meet API Classification SM and can be used in place of SL, SJ, and prior API category oils. Follow manufacturer's recommendations for viscosity grade and API Service Category. FormulaShellÊSAE 10W-40 and SAE 20W-50 Engine Oils are formulated with, thermally stable base stocks and select additive systems to provide protection for the demands made on modern crankcase lubricants. These oils provide a high level of protection against wear, rust and corrosion, piston scuffing and, high temperature oxidation and valve train wear.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services
  • This oil is formulated for gasoline-powered automobiles and light duty trucks. It meets or exceeds warranty requirements for those vehicle types and is not noted for diesel engine use.

  • A 10W-40 rating means the oil flows with the cold-start characteristics of a 10-weight oil and maintains the high-temperature protection of a 40-weight oil at operating temperature. This wide range is achieved through select viscosity index improvers, enabling easier cold-weather starting and reliable protection under high heat.

  • This oil is formulated with thermally stable base stocks and select additive systems to protect against wear, rust, corrosion, piston scuffing, high-temperature oxidation, and valve train wear.

  • Yes, this oil is specially formulated to improve fuel economy in addition to providing broad engine protection across a wide temperature range.

  • Yes, this oil is formulated for backward compatibility and can be used in place of older-classification oils. To confirm it matches your vehicle manufacturer's specific service category recommendation, consult your owner's manual or the product's Technical Data Sheet.

  • Yes, this 10W-40 conventional motor oil is also available in bulk quantities beyond the 55-gallon drum.
