TRUEGARD Syncool 741 - 55 Gallon Drum

For light machining of steel alloys, TRUEGARD Syncool 741 should be mixed at 20:1 (water to concentrate); for grinding operations, you can dilute up to 60:1. The higher dilution for grinding is practical because grinding generates less cutting force and requires more emphasis on cooling and chip/swarf removal than on lubricity.

Syncool 741 is formulated for grinding and light machining, with its phosphorous-based lubricity package specifically optimized for steel alloys. If you are working with non-ferrous metals or performing heavy-duty cutting, a different coolant formulation may be more appropriate.

These compounds are associated with skin sensitization, potential carcinogenic concerns (especially nitrosamines formed by DEA), and regulatory restrictions in many regions. A formula free of these substances reduces health and compliance risks for operators and makes disposal more straightforward.

The biocide package is designed to suppress bacterial and fungal growth in the sump, which is the primary cause of foul odors in metalworking coolants. This helps extend the usable life of the fluid and maintain a cleaner working environment without requiring frequent coolant changeouts.

Synthetic coolants contain no petroleum oil, which means they provide superior heat removal, better chip settling, and cleaner machine surfaces.
